Charles Barkley: "I am not a role model." Don't conflate celebrity with righteousness. You'll end up disappointed every time. From religion, to politics, to sports, notoriety is not nobility.

Never meet your heroes. (Although, I may be one of the few who never actually liked the show ๐Ÿ˜…).. I always get a side-eye when I admit that. Every character annoyed me. ๐Ÿ˜†

As a Seinfeld fan, I appreciated the mundane aspect of the show, because โ€œtruth is stranger than fiction,โ€ definitely showed up. As a man (and above that a pretty liberal, but very affirmed Christian), 1) iโ€™m not looking to random people to guide my morality 2) expecting Jerry Seinfeld (a very culturally Jewish but not particularly religious Jewish) person to say โ€œfree Palestineโ€ just cuz heโ€™s well known and you hope heโ€™s in that segment of sociopolitical people is laughable at bestโ€ฆ Sorry for the long response.

I expect zero from Jerry Seinfeld.

There are certain lines that you do not cross in life. There are certain things that should bring us together and expertise in any area is not relevant here

Paedophilia bad. Genocide bad. It isnโ€™t a celebrity thing. Itโ€™s a human bond that folks are looking for. I think it natural that they seek out those voices from the influential and powerful. And unless you have been locked away somewhere, you know that the comedians HAVE been giving us basic human moral clarity. Colbert - Kimmel - Oliver - Meyers to name a few. I think Seinfeld came through loud and clear. He may be rich he may be famous but he is also human He was being asked a question that every human should be asked.

I read your comment and thought it was replying to me, so I do apologize for the unsolicited response, even if this is a public forum

You're bringing two absolutes together that are exclusive of each other. "Human bond" inherently implies that Jerry should agree with something. Even if he is not in agreement with the mutual terror from Israel/Palestine, expecting him to say "Free Palestine" when he is a Jewish man that did a kibbutz in Israel as a teen, is a stretch. You/we/they WANT him to say "Free Palestine" cuz we feel he should align with our values, when that's just not where it lands with him... Don't expect rich people to want everyone to be rich, just cuz.
